For the booking engine you cannot stop sales like you do for the channel manager through the tools.

You can only reduce target sales or put 0 at contract-target sales for a specific season (you can add more seasons at your special calendar).

Or if it is easier, you can just enter reservations in your calendar with status confirmed. This will reduce the availability to all channels connected and the booking engine. Then you can delete these reservations, or enter the correct details once confirmed.

Keep in mind: Reservations from your website(booking engine) are direct and without commission, so you want to give all available rooms, don't stop sales on your booking engine. The booking engine looks if there is a room available for the whole stay, so you won t have to spit a reservation (move customer to different rooms for his stay) instead of just looking for free nights as the channels do. When you reduce the target sales from 17 to 10 double rooms, it means that instead of 17 reservations, the booking engine can send you 10 reservations only as long as you have 10 available rooms in your calendar. The availability of the hotel always wins. So for example you set target sales 10 rooms but if you have less rooms available, for example only 4 available, then only 4 reservations can be done through the booking engine even thought you applied 10 rooms at target sales. So what you set at target sales, the system will calculate and send your availability as follows: target sales - confirmed reservations = available rooms
